Back in December, Deathgaze released a new album that was highly anticipated by their fans. I personally am not a big fan of them, but I took a listen to the album anyway. To be honest, a lot of the songs sounded the same to me, as well as other people, and I don't really see what all of the hype was about. There were a few cool songs on there, like the lighter "IRIDIZE DREAM" and the "Evoke the World"-esque "BLISS OUT YOURSELF." The second  CD is all re-recorded old songs. However, since I only really listen to 3~4 songs by them, they're all new for me :D . "Mr. Freaks" is cool because of the lyrics. "*sings sweetly* Fuck you, kiss my ass."

Since I cannot do this album justice, I am going to call in a favor and ask for someone else's more thorough opinion. This article is taken from here , with permission, in order to make this post more promotional than "I'unno...dont rly lisn2 dem sry." A bit unusual for me, but here is ShannethVarosa's review for the album:

"To preface, I need to say that I've only recently become a fan of DEATHGAZE. I haven't been into them since Genocide and Mass Murder like most fans, but I have listened to all of their songs, and I can say they only get better as time goes on. Having Ai as the new vocalist was a step in the right direction, seeing as his voice is so unique in the scene. His voice has been described as "an ox mooing," which I can't entirely disagree with, but at the same time I love it. However, with this album that whole ox-mooing thing has been taken down a lot. I think his voice sounds almost perfect throughout this album when compared to his singing on other tracks. Without further adu:

1. God Bless You - This is a really strong way to start an album, of course it isn't the best song on the album, but you must start off with your best foot forward. The song is a lot like some other previous DG songs in that the verses and hooks are mainly screamed, but there is a sort of beautiful melodic tone to the chorus. And it's catchy, you don't get too much catchy in JRock these days, but it's an incredible song all around. 10/10

2. Crash Down - Generic title is generic, but the song doesn't impress either. It's very heavy and it's all in scream. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Irredeemably Evil was one of my favorite songs by DG and it's very dark and heavy... but Crash Down fails to bring anything new to the table. It is fun to listen to when angry, I'd assume... I haven't been angry since I heard the album, but it's a lot of fun to just jam out to and release some aggression to. 7.5/10

3. Blood - This song was released as a single a while ago, but never really did anything for me until now. The song as a whole is heavy, but powerful. Not heavy in the same way Crash Down was, as this song seems to have a purpose aside from mosh-pit inducing screams. This one has a strong melody to go with it's jam-out sound. 9/10

4. My Doped Brain & Skin is Dead - This is another song that goes along the same lines as Crash Down. It's not incredibly memorable, but it is heavy and cathartic. If I had to choose one to really rock out to though, it would be Crash Down. It's louder and more in your face. This song is kind of like "I'll help you rock out! But I'll get tired after a while, then you might as well go back to Crash Down..." The chorus doesn't really do anything for me either. Kind of bland. 7/10

5. Iridize Dream - Hell Yes. People always say DG does the same thing over and over again and Ai always forces his voice to sound like Hazuki (or whatever that other guy's name was...), but on this you really get to hear Ai's true voice and it is GOOD. It's very natural. The verses are definitely one of the catchier, dance-rockier songs on the album which is something we don't ever really get to hear from them, but the fact that the mood of the song shifts to a ballad for the chorus is pretty awesome. I cannot get enough of this song. 10/10

6. Sorrow - The other single from the album. Released with Irredeemably Evil, but compared to that it didn't do anything for me. When you hear it in the midst of the album, however, it really stands out, especially after something as overall fun as Iridize Dream. You see that it's this truly beautiful power ballad. One to listen to over and over again! 9/10

7. Children - Okay honestly, this is one of the weirdest songs I've ever heard. There's a sound that kind of sounds like words... but also kind of sounds like nothing at all. That is kind of a deal breaker for me. I actually really LOVE the song apart from that, it is a unique song for DG to try and I don't think they failed, but it's definitely weird using that sound. The singing and screaming however was amazing as always. 8/10

8. Undead Fact - I love this song. I cannot get enough of it. It's fast paced and pretty in your face, but the choruses are AWESOME. That's sort of a pattern I notice among DG songs. They scream and scream and then they have a chorus that's incredibly addicting. Undead Fact is one of the better songs on the album. I wish I knew a word to describe this chorus, but the melody (combined with the beat) make it irresistable. 10/10

9. Six Black Nine - This song kind of doesn't really do anything for me either. It's another heavy song along the lines of Crash Down that doesn't really have a sense of direction or individuality to it. Not even really as fun as Crash Down. Reminiscent of MDB&SID. 7/10

10. Grace - Amazing ballad. It starts off super mellow, which is nice. It sort of lulls you into this state of being serene and calm, and then that part from the preview happens maybe a couple minutes in and really wakes you up and blows you away with such a unique composition. I would say it's the Amends of this album, but I think it's better. 10/10

11. Bliss Out Yourself - This is the best song ever. It's 6 minutes, but it's just... amazing. Like I can't describe it in words. One would need to hear it for themselves. 10/10
