Porém esta formação nao duraria muito, pois após a gravação da demo-tape Marorii jujin no hiyakana yokubou, Gilles ele deixou a banda, sendo substituido por Kei.
Em março, eles lançariam a demo-tape zange no asa ni . . . demo-tape esta que chamou atenção do selo Enamell Records, que logo mais em junho lançaria o primeiro mini-album da banda Rideru no akai mokimono.
Aproximadamente nove meses depois do lançamento deste album, lançaram Tsumetai atelier majutsushi e alguns meses depois o box ELIPHAS LEVI foi lançado.
Algum tempo depois, surgiram boatod de que Kei deixaria a banda, oque realmente aconteceu, Kei deixou a banda no ano 2000.
Tentando continuar com a banda, os membros restantes lançaram um album instrumental chamado kuroshinkari, mas infelizmente a banda acabou terminando após o lançamento do album.
O som da banda pode ser classificado como gótico, e dentre suas influencias estão trilhas sonoras de filmes de terror, oque é bem retratado pela banda.

O nome Eliphas Levi vem do pseudonimo do ocultista francês Alphonse Louis Constant, que foi importantissimo para o ocultimos moderno em tais 'artes' como a do 'tarot'.
Tanta influencia tem sobre a banda, que os membros interpretavam cartas de tarot desenhadas por ele.Kei, certamente era uma boneca, Shuri a rainha, Camus o Deus da Morte e Kyoka uma bruxa.

Eliphas Levi was formed in 1998 by Camus and Kyoka, that as soon invited Shuri and Gilles.
However this formation wouldn't continue for a long time, after they recorded the demo-tape "Marorii Jujin no Hiyakana Yokubou", Gilles left the band, being substituted by Kei.
In March they released the demo-tape "Zange no Asa ni" which drew attention of the label Enamell Records, as soon in July released their first mini-album "Rideru no Akai Mokimono".
Approximately 9 months later, after the release of the mini-album, they released "Tsumetai Atelier Majutsushi" and some months later, a box ELIPHAS LEVI.
Some time later, rumors emerged that Kei would leave the band, what really happened, Kei left the band in 2000.
Trying keep on with the band, the rest of the members released a instrumental album called "Kuroshinkari", but unfortunatly they disbanded after it.
The sound of the band can be classified as gothic, and among their influences are horror movies soundtracks, what is well portrayed by the band.
The name Eliphas Levi came from the french pseudonym occultist Alphonse Louis Constant, that was very important for the modern occultism in such things as art and tarot.
Such influence have around the band, that the members interpreted tarot cards drawed by him.
Kei was the doll, Shuri the queen, Camus the God of Death and Kyoka the witch.
